Disability Groups

RMA offers a wide range of programming designed to create a day of adventure for your group. Activities are offered to most disabilities. Scroll down to view the activity options available and then complete a booking request to get in touch.

Catered for You

RMA provides various adaptive Lessons and Experiences options to meet your groups needs and ability levels. We cater for groups between 5 – 20 guests (determined by activity). Ranging from single-day to multi-day adventures, RMA will curate a unique mountain experience for your group.

Activity Types

Programming for groups is available during both the summer and winter season and includes: hiking, biking, and paddlesports in the Summer, and downhill skiing, snowboarding, sit skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Winter. We look forward to seeing you out on the slopes and trails.

Gather Your Information

Get ready to submit your inquiry by collecting details such as your group size, activities of interest, and requested dates and locations.

Submit a Request

Submit a booking inquiry through our online form at least 60 days prior to the date (additional notice may be required for large groups).

Confirmation

Once your date and activity are confirmed, we’ll send your booking invoice for online payment and provide more information and deadlines for collecting relevant information or forms to complete for your group.

Preparation

We’ll stay in touch to collect any required details by the deadlines in your booking confirmation, helping us plan effectively with the right resources and staff. In the days leading up to your adventure, you’ll receive reminders about packing lists, location details, and other essentials.

We can’t wait to welcome you at your confirmed location and time! Please make sure to arrive early to allow plenty of time to put on additional clothing or equipment and for a washroom break.

Are you looking for activities that are not advertised? Please let us know any additional requests and we will do our best to accommodate.

Accessible Transportation

At this time, we are unable to provide accessible transportation to your group. We hope to offer this in the future.

Cross Country Ski Lessons

Enable your group to learn the basics of cross country skiing at the Canmore Nordic Centre. These lessons are run by Trail Sports, and assisted by the team at RMA. Lessons will be in small group format. One or two cross country sit skis may be available for individuals with mobility challenges.

Downhill Ski, Snowboard and Sit Ski Lessons

Learn to ski, snowboard and sit ski at the beautiful Sunshine Village. Guests will be taught by RMA instructors, in small group or individual format, determined by ability and skill level. This is an exciting day out for all. Some groups choose to stay at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge for ease of access on day of.

Snowshoeing Experience

Explore the beautiful Rockies in the winter months. Follow Snowshoe trails as your trek through the snow to witness the spectacular surroundings. Snowshoe Experiences are arranged to suit your groups ability. Upon arrival at the Trailhead, guests will be prepped for the adventure ahead. TrailRiders are available during the winter months for individuals with mobility challenges.

Conditions

Your team must have the ability to take part in your chosen activity. If you have members who do not wish to take part, please discuss this with us as there may be options for some members to watch and interact with the activity and guests. Examples of this are individuals with very serious mobility or health concerns or those who weigh 200 lbs or more.

Activity details and schedule vary per activity and may change in the lead up to your activity. Specific details will be confirmed close to your adventure date.

We recommend booking 3 months prior to your requested booking date. However, we may be able to accommodate bookings up to 2 months prior. Please provide a range of possible dates at time of request.

For cancellations, a 50% refund will be issued when request is made 4 weeks prior to event. No refund is provided for cancellations made within 4 weeks of event. If you do need to cancel, please discuss options to move booking to alternative date.
