Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) is embarking on an exciting journey to enhance the inclusivity and accessibility of outdoor experiences for individuals living with disabilities. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors and contribute their unique skill sets to drive positive change.

At RMA, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion. We are committed to fostering an environment that reflects the richness of the communities we serve. We invite candidates from all backgrounds and abilities to apply, with a special emphasis on individuals living with disabilities who bring a valuable perspective to our organization.

    • Fundraising and development
    • Marketing and communications
    • Legal expertise
    • Financial management
    • Strategic planning
    • Project and program development, implementation and management

  5. Personal Experience with Disabilities

Strategic Objectives of RMA

  • The recognized centre of excellence and leader in Canada for adaptive mountain sports.
  • Deliver more, high quality year-round, inclusive, accessible programs open to a more diverse range of participants
  • Financially sustainable with diversified income sources to enable growth
  • Enabled by fit for purpose operational facilities and resources
  • Recruit and retain a team of skilled, diverse, permanent and volunteer staff
  • Effective system of governance

Primary Responsibilities

  • RMA’s highest level of decision making and legal authority
  • Accountable for RMA’s resources and activities
  • Define, through policy, the parameters of RMA
  • Articulate and communicate RMA’s vision

Expectations

  • Make a time commitment of averaging 10-15 hours per month
  • Attend six board meetings per year and the annual general meeting
  • Sit on one board committee, meeting as required
  • Attend a strategic planning session every two to three years
  • Attend special events
