RMA is partnered with the Bow Valley Kayak Club (BVKC) and Aquabatics to offer this unique 5 week adaptive learn to kayak program. Aquabatics Instructors and trained RMA volunteers provide tuition and support in the water while allowing children and teens to kayak. The 1st and/or 2nd sessions will be located at the Quarry Lake, then may move to other locations (lakes or slow moving water – ability dependent). For safety reasons, all participants must be able to swim independently.
The cost of this program is covered in part by the Peter Thompson Memorial Fund, enabling kids of all abilities to ‘get stoked‘ on kayaking. Thanks to the support of MEC, particpants will also have the option to try canoeing and stand up paddleboarding!
