Marie Skis her 150th day during Canada’s 150th
Just over five years ago, Marie Olney packed herself up and moved to Calgary. Her main reason: to ski with Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) at Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort.
Marie is a super-proud Canadian and she has decided to celebrate Canada’s Sesquicentennial by attempting to ski her 150th time with RMA during the 2016-2017 season!
We celebrate the core Canadian values of acceptance of diversity and inclusion of all regardless of personal traits, including abilities. In recognition of this, and as a gesture of thanks to RMA for the support they have provided, Marie is hoping you will make a pledge to support her in meeting her goal. All funds raised will go for RMA to secure and train staff, purchase sit-skis, out-riggers, identifiable uniforms, adapted bikes, etc. RMA needs your help to get folks of all ages and disABILITIES out into and onto the mountains and enjoying over 15 different sport and recreation activities. To meet this goal, Marie will have to ski 34 times with RMA in the 2016-2017 season. Her best season to date saw her hit the slopes 27 times ** with an average of 19 times a season.
