What is a Hand Cycle?
A hand cycle is a type of human-powered land vehicle powered by the arms rather than the legs, as on a bicycle. Most hand cycles are tricycle in form, with two coasting rear wheels and one steerable powered front wheel. Despite usually having three wheels, they are also known as hand cycles or hand bikes.

Who Can Rent Our Hand Cycles?
Our hand cycles are available to individuals with physical limitations who are not able to comfortably use a regular bike. First time users of our hand cycles are advised to choose an easy short trail with limited roots and rocks. Users of our rental equipment should be accompanied by a family member or friend. Please note that we only rent Hand Cycles to individuals who are planning a trip with the local area between Lake Louise to Kananaskis. It may not be used or transported outside this area. First time users wishing to rent our Hand Cycles must take part in a 1 hour orientation. This may be booked online when booking a rental.
Hand Cycles are available from complete beginners to expert users. First time users of our adaptive equipment will need to complete a 1 hour orientation at a cost of $20. This one off orientation will explain correct usage and safety features of the hand cycle, and make sure that it is fitted correctly to the user.
Where Can I Take the Hand Cycle?
Hand Cycles may be on many trails between Lake Louise and Kananaskis Country. Beginners should choose paved or gravel pathways, which a limited amount of incline. We also recommend the trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park for more advanced users.
$25/day, or Punch Passes available in the following amounts: $200/10 days, $300/20 days. (Punch Passes may be used for all summer and winter rental equipment). The option to purchase a 10 or 20 Day Punch Pass may be selected as an add-on cost during the check out process.
Please aim to cancel a rental booking more than 48 hours prior to your rental date.
